Full-Time Training - Testimonies

Instant Oneness, Alex and Prema Zachariah

We, husband and wife, are full-time trainees in our third term. We touched the local churches fifteen months ago in Shreveport, Louisiana and now, two months later, we are in the Full-Time Training (FTTA). Our background is, we both are physicians and professors retired in 2000 after thirty years of faculty position in the Christian Medical College, Ludhiana, North India. We were visiting our daughters and family in Shreveport when we were introduced to the local churches in Shreveport, Louisiana. Our two month experience in the local church in Shreveport was an eye opener. We never found such an experience and expression of life in our 40 years in seven denominations after we were born again in a Billy Graham crusade in India.

During our summer break in 2001 we visited about ten local churches in Canada, Seattle, California, and in Louisiana. We continued to experience a sweet oneness of life, which was inexplicable.

In our winter break, which was extended to 63 days, we visited 20 local churches in six countries everywhere with the brothers and sisters we had never met. We experienced an “instant oneness of joy.” The believers everywhere accepted us instantly and we all enjoyed one another as we enjoyed the Lord, by singing, feasting--physical and spiritual, and we went to bed almost every night in a brother's home, with joy and peace. The believers treated us as though they knew us for years. In Korea, all three nights, we were in three different believers' homes and in two of the homes they hardly spoke any English. We communicated in the universal smile and body language, called on the Lord, and our time in these two homes was quite memorable. We thus experienced the oneness of the believers in the Body of Christ as prayed for by our Lord in the gospel of John, chapter seventeen. We also experienced the one Body, one Spirit, one hope, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God, Father of all, who is over all, through all, and in all (Ephesians 4:4-6).

Praise the Lord for the instant oneness!
